Information collected and purposes

• When you contact us (email, phone, text, WhatsApp): your name, contact details, dates and message, used only to answer your request and organize your stay. GDPR legal basis: pre-contractual steps (Art. 6(1)(b)).
• Audience measurement, only if you accept it: Google Analytics (through Google Tag Manager) and Beyond Pricing, our pricing tool, collect browsing data (pages viewed, clicks, device type, approximate city or country). We use it to understand how the site is used and to adjust our prices. GDPR legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a)).
• Google Maps (Experience page): loaded only if you accept cookies or click “Show the maps”. Google then receives your IP address.
• Technical data: our web host keeps connection logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) to keep the site secure and running.

Cookies

No measurement or advertising cookie is set without your consent. Features that can identify you or track your browsing are off by default.

• Necessary: your preferred language and your consent choice, kept in your browser (local storage) for 12 months.
• Audience measurement (with consent): Google Analytics _ga and _ga_* (up to 2 years), Beyond Pricing cookies.
• Third-party content (with consent or on request): Google Maps cookies.

Sharing and processing outside Quebec

We never sell or rent your information. It may be processed by our providers: Google (Analytics, Tag Manager, Maps, Gmail), Beyond Pricing, our web host and the jsDelivr and unpkg content delivery networks (display libraries). Some of them process data outside Quebec and the European Union, notably in the United States, under appropriate contractual safeguards.

If you book on Airbnb, Vrbo or Expedia, that platform's privacy policy applies to your booking.

Retention

• Messages and rental inquiries: up to 3 years after the last exchange.
• Information related to a paid stay: 6 years, for tax obligations.
• Audience measurement data: 14 months at most.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction, deletion or portability of your information, object to its processing and withdraw your consent at any time. Write to lerefugedeseauxvives@gmail.com; we reply within 30 days.

You may also file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (www.cai.gouv.qc.ca) or, if you live in the European Union, with your country's data protection authority (edpb.europa.eu).

Security and incidents

The site is served over HTTPS and access to your information is limited to what is strictly necessary. If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify the Commission d'accès à l'information and the people concerned.
